November 2015 - Goddamn Horse - Pet Lover

I’m a little late again, I know; I’m blaming this one on my staff. They’ve been slacking lately because I treat them so nice. But time is wasting so let’s get right back to the ROCK!

The November Single (Song) of The Month is by Pet Lover and it’s called Goddamn Horse. Pet Lover is out of Chicago and they can be found here: http://digital.petlovermusic.com/

The labeling of certain rock music as punk rock has been, overall, a good thing. I know there are purists who count chords, but to me it’s always been more of a feel thing. Most of us know punk rock when it barks our shin or inflates our diaphragm. You feel it. If it had a thousand chords and a symphony orchestra it might still be punk. I mean I doubt it but, maybe. On the other hand, if it slits your nostrils or makes you want to jump off the roof into an above ground pool it’s probably punk rock. It’s when you start thinking about it too much and start sub-genredizing and clarifying that you lose what is just a nice and simple notion that we all understand in our guts as PUNK.

Even the above is almost too much said. Once you start rambling about certain music I lose interest. Once I start ruminating about certain music its impact gets gone. Sometimes all you really want and need is a certain jolt or a surprise sensation like an unexpected kidney punch or someone sticking their hand right down the front of your shorts. Not a lot of time to think there, but sure enough your brain is firing like crazy! This is what Pet Lover do. They punch your kidney and stick their hand down your shorts, and if you like Rock that's two of the kinda things your looking for.

So I’ll shut up now and let you listen to the fun, the fury, and the frivolity of Goddamn Horse. Be careful! I smashed the garage door rocking out to this one.
